Getting DeedVault setup is a really easy process:
STEP ONE
Register and set up your account:
When you click ‘register’ we will ask you for your details. You get a 3 month free trial of DeedVault to give you time to decide if it’s for you, so we won’t take payment immediately.
You will also be asked to nominate some key people who will be involved in administering your estate. Read More Here
STEP TWO
Upload Your Information
We will lead you through the process of filling up your vault.
You don’t need to do this all in one go; you can do it at your own pace.
STEP THREE
Forget about us!
Once your information is in the vault you can forget all about us!
We will contact you periodically to check that all your information is up to date.
You only need to go into your vault when new information needs to be added.
Who are the key people?
As well as uploading all your information, you will be asked to nominate some key people:
Your Executor
This is the person who will be administering your estate. It might be a lawyer, a friend or a family member.
You may have several Executors, which is fine. All we need are their names and their email addresses.
Your Legacy Contact
This is the person or people who will let us at DeedVault know when you have passed away. We recommend you have least two Legacy Contacts.
Again, we will need their names and their email addresses.
Your Support People
It’s not essential to have support people, but you may choose to give trusted friends or family access to DeedVault. You decide the level of access they have, and you can change their access level at any time:
Read-only access, access only when something happens to you or full editing access.
When you first register for DeedVault, all these people will receive an email from us, explaining their role and what they need to do. They do have the option to decline the role should they choose.
Once they accept, we give them all the information they need to know, and again, we’re with them every step of the process.
So what happens when the time comes?
When something does happen, your Legacy Contacts will login to DeedVault using the information that we’ve given them and let us know.
We don’t do anything immediately; we wait 24 hours before setting the process in motion, just to make sure the news we have received is correct.
After 12 hours, we release all your information to your Executor. And that’s it. Once your Executor has access to all the documentation that you have filed and organised, then normal legal process of administering an estate begins.
The difference is that yours will be organised, complete and up to date so that your family and friends can focus on their emotional needs.
